CULTURAL MASTER PLAN

The Arts Council has begun the initial development phase of a Cultural Master Plan for El Dorado County. When complete, this Plan will serve as a framework for enhancing economic development, increasing cultural tourism, creating greater access to the arts, and developing sustainability for arts and culture throughout the region.Click here to read FAQs about the planning process.

May 11, 2016: El Dorado Arts Council has announced a major grant award from the National Endowment for the Arts. The NEA has endorsed the Cultural Planning process with a grant of $35,000. “The Arts Council Board is very pleased that the timing for this cultural plan will allow it to dovetail with the goals and objectives of the County’s Economic Development Strategic Plan,” said President Dan Cattone. “The County has been an important partner to El Dorado Arts Council, and we look forward to working together to develop cultural tourism and create more access to arts and culture for all.”

NETWORKING, ADVOCACY and INITIATIVES

El Dorado Arts Council serves as a State-Local Partner to the California Arts Council. The State-Local Partnership Program fosters community development through the arts at the county level via partnerships between the California Arts Council and local arts agencies. Partners benefit from funding, technical assistance and coordinated activities that support their efforts that enrich the lives of the members of their communities through the arts. EDAC also partners with the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors to promote, nurture and sustain the arts in the region, and serves as a help desk for arts inquiries of all kinds. EDAC also serves as the anchor nonprofit for smaller organizations, offering an insurance program and fiscal services.
