Arts and Culture El Dorado, in partnership with Vail Resorts, invites professional artists to submit proposals for the Heavenly Gondola Wrap Public Art Project. This opportunity will commission an artist to design original artwork to be applied as a vinyl wrap to a Heavenly gondola cabin.
This project supports efforts to reduce vehicle traffic to Emerald Bay and protect Lake Tahoe by promoting the bus as an alternative transportation option. In partnership with Keep Tahoe Blue, the project seeks artwork that celebrates the lake while encouraging environmental awareness, stewardship, and sustainable access.
The Heavenly gondola is a highly visible and widely photographed feature of the Lake Tahoe region. The selected artwork must reflect the cultural, environmental, and regional identity of Lake Tahoe while meeting all technical requirements for gondola wrap installation.

Submissions are closed.
This Call for Artists is open to professional artists and artist teams who live within 50 miles of Heavenly Mountain Resort in South Lake Tahoe. The selected artist will receive an award of $4,500. Vail Resorts will manage all fabrication, printing, installation, and promotional efforts. This is a design based call. Applicants must submit a fully developed artwork concept.
Full eligibility requirements, technical specifications, templates, and submission details are provided in the Request for Proposals (RFP).
