Arts and Culture El Dorado, in partnership with Vail Resorts, invited professional artists to apply for the Heavenly Gondola Wrap Public Art Project. Following an open call that received a strong and inspiring selection of submissions, we are pleased to announce that Bryn Merrell has been selected as the project artist. The project is currently in the contracting phase, with more details, including the unveiling date, to be announced soon in partnership with Keep Tahoe Blue.
The project will commission original artwork for a vinyl wrap on a Heavenly gondola cabin, with installation planned for June 2026.
Created to support efforts to reduce vehicle traffic to Emerald Bay and protect Lake Tahoe, the project promotes alternative transportation while celebrating the lake’s natural beauty. In partnership with Keep Tahoe Blue, it encourages artwork that reflects environmental awareness, stewardship, and sustainable access.
