Dream Lion, by Taylor Graham
As if born of the rapids
muscle and claw of wild water,
lion bursts glorious and golden
from depths of thicket,
thickets whose edges
I’ve walked in fear, in dreams
on trails, scanning
for lion out of nowhere, anywhere.
Lion spirit leaping
at & with the ambient raging wild
yet here, in the gallery, lion
is caught & held in the web of design.
