Women of the Vines, by Shelley Wagner
Honeybees in spring
Carry their weight
in golden goods
Like pollen like dust
These women of the vines
Carry their riches
A workforce in blue gather
alone, and together.
There are no stars
Only the moon
There are no lovers
Only the mothers
Alone, and together.
the women loom
at Findleton’s Vineyard
April to June
