The roundabouts in Meyers on the way into South Lake Tahoe present a unique opportunity for permanent public art that reflects the spirit and heritage of our community. This project is being led by Arts and Culture El Dorado, in partnership with El Dorado County and Caltrans. It will be privately funded and based on the success of a dedicated fundraising effort.

Our goal is to create art that welcomes residents and visitors while honoring Meyers’ natural landscape, local stories, and the Indigenous heritage of the Washoe people, on whose ancestral lands this project will be located.

The Community Survey is has now ended – we received over 380 responses, and have begun collating the results to share with prospective artists. Our goal is to release the Request for Proposals before Labor Day of this year, with a proposed submission deadline of November 1, 2025.

Please check back here in the coming weeks for news. If you’d like to receive updates about the project, please email loren@artsandcultureeldorado.org and ask to be added to the list.
