The roundabouts in Meyers on the way into South Lake Tahoe present a unique opportunity for permanent public art that reflects the spirit and heritage of our community. This project is being led by Arts and Culture El Dorado, in partnership with El Dorado County and Caltrans. It will be privately funded and based on the success of a dedicated fundraising effort.
Our goal is to create art that welcomes residents and visitors while honoring Meyers’ natural landscape, local stories, and the Indigenous heritage of the Washoe people, on whose ancestral lands this project will be located.
The community survey has now closed, with more than 380 responses received. We are finalizing contracts with Caltrans and the County and preparing the Request for Proposals (RFP) for artists. Updates and a full project timeline will be shared here in the coming weeks. Sign up below for updated.
