May 25 –  August 12, 2018

Public Event:

Thursday, July 12th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Teri Smoot, photographer, aerospace engineer and amateur astronomer, will be giving a talk on her process for capturing the night sky. Smoot will explain how her images on display were generated and the physical significance of the objects themselves. Attendance and parking are free.

Look up. See the vastness above you. The colors, the lights, the swaths of nothing with everything in between. The sheer amount of space that is … out there. Partnering with the Community Observatory on the Placerville campus of Folsom Lake College, El Dorado Arts Council is bringing that expanse, the sky itself, to you. Pieces of the universe itself, images of space, sky, and planets, have been brought down into the Fausel House Gallery to be on display.

Opening Reception: Thursday, May 31, 6 – 8 pm.
