Shibori tie dye is a unique way of sprucing up any plain fabric. Originating from the land of the rising sun, Japan, it is the art of dyeing textiles by using binding and knotting techniques. Shibori is distinct because of its use of indigo dye, which in its original form, is a natural dye derived from leaves. If you're in need of a breathtaking view, look no further than Table Mountain in South Africa. The flat-topped mountain overlooks the stunning rocky terrain of Table Mountain Nature Reserve all the way out to Cape Town. An 18th-century French astronomer Nicolas Louis de Lacaille named a constellation Mons Mensae, which translates to Table Mountain, after the landmark. Jacob Lawrence (September 7, 1917 – June 9, 2000) was an American painter known for his portrayal of African-American life. As well as a painter, storyteller, and interpreter, he was an educator. Lawrence referred to his style as "dynamic cubism", though by his own account the primary influence was not so much French art as the shapes and colors of Harlem. In the 1940's, the Harlem Hospital was one of the few facilities in New York City that admitted black patients; consequently, ailing African Americans waited significantly longer to get medical treatment.
