The name Switchboard Gallery is an homage to the building's original purpose as the Pacific Telephone Company building.

In January 2025, Arts and Culture El Dorado will be collaborating with Placerville Arts Association to bring you a member show featuring some of El Dorado County's finest artists from around the region. The exhibition will feature 35 to 50 pieces in a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
In honor of National Youth Art Month, Arts and Culture El Dorado is exited to celebrate its second annual Youth Arts Exhibition, showcasing artworks created by El Dorado County youth, grades 9-12. In Spring of 2025, Union Mine students will take over Switchboard Gallery, curating a show of their own works. Each successive year we'll feature a different high school, focusing on the youth culture of each unique El Dorado County community.
