Ken Mahar has been taking photos of building sites and architecture for over 30 years. Since his trip to Africa and Costa Rica, he has been particularly captivated by wild animals in their natural habitat; strengthening his goal to observe our environment with minimal impact while maintaining maximum respect for all living things.
For the past ten years Ken has been sharing his work through invitational and juried galleries, corporate buildings in Silicon Valley and lobbies and hallways of Public Buildings; in addition Ken exhibits at fine art festivals throughout the Bay Area and the Sierra foothills. Ken’s work has won many awards for his architectural abstracts, seascapes, landscapes, and nature photography that highlight his unique eye for composition and light, making each piece a focal point.
Ken donates a portion of the sales of his African imagery to Hope Streams Academy, a start up grade school in Nairobi, Kenya.
